Patient: What we’re going to do on her is treat the Crow’s Feet area and smile for me. They fold up a bit and these lines and wrinkles are created by muscle expression so if we can-relax your smile now. So if we relax that muscle the Crow’s Feet area won’t wrinkle up as much and this is actually preventive. Twenty-five percent of the patients who get Botox are under age thirty like Karen, just kidding. But it’s sort of preventive so they don’t get deeper and deeper. So it’s just going to be three little injections. Now she’s never had Botox so let me just do the first one. Close your eyes. And here’s a little pinch. And I put my finger there so it doesn’t want to bruise. Here’s the second one. And then one more. Three.

Text: Did the Botox injections hurt?

Patient: No I barely felt a thing. It was great.

Dr. Butterwick: Good. And a lot of people are afraid of Botox but once they have it they go oh my gosh it’s so easy. So it that sort of what you think.

Patient: Yeah, absolutely. How long does it take to see the results?

Dr. Butterwick: It takes about two, about three to seven days to see the total result. Sometimes this delicate skin will want to bruise around the eyes. If we just put a little bit of pressure there it won’t bruise. And hold this side now.

Text: What about a Botox brow lift?

Dr. Butterwick: We’re going to try on her to get the Botox brow lift. So we just need to put three little dots there plus the dots I put there and it will lift her brow. Now she just had laser and these lines that you still see will go away over the next three to four months because with laser you have a beautiful result right away but then it stimulates collagen to grow, and then you put products on the skin so the skin betters better and better after the laser. But we don’t want the lines to re occur, the lines that are caused by facial expression. So that’s why a little bit of Botox along with a laser to keep her result as long as possible.
