Injectables
The word “injectables” is a broad term used to describe cosmetic products that are injected with a syringe directly into the treatment area. Injectables include dermal fillers like Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra, etc… and products like Botox Cosmetic which is not technically a dermal filler. Botox is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles but it is not a “filler” as it has a different mechanism of action.
Below please find all of our injectables offered here at our La Jolla based dermatology practice. You can click on each one for more information.
Botox
Botox is a neurotoxin drug that acts by temporarily blocking nerve pulses in facial muscles. It is often effective in areas where fillers may not be. BOTOX Cosmetic is available only as a prescription medication and is used to treat glabellar lines (furrow between eyebrows), muscles related to expression lines around the eyes, forehead and frown lines around the mouth. The results last for approximately 3-4 months and it is a very well studied and safe product. Read More About Botox…
